How to get to Chamonix

One of the reasons for Chamonix Mont Blanc’s popularity as a year round holiday resort, particularly for those booking short breaks, is its accessibility to Geneva Airport.

Well-renowned operators like Easyjet and British Airways fly from a large choice of UK airports to Geneva, and once you arrive it is only an hour’s drive up the motorway to the heart of the resort.

Travel to Chamonix by Airport Transfer Service

To get from Geneva Airport to Chamonix, you can book Shared or Private Transfers through for 75€ per person return. Alternative airports which have fairly short transfer times to Chamonix are Milan (Italy, 3˝ hrs), Turin (Italy, 2˝ hrs) and Lyon (France 2˝ hrs). Our partner ATS will be happy to organise your journey from any of these destinations, and you can contact them directly by visiting A-T-S.net.

Travel to Chamonix by Car

Chamonix is easily accessible by car should you wish to drive. You can plan your road-trip online with viamichelin.com or google maps. All the well-known vehicle hire companies have sales desks within the airport terminals and can be easily booked online.

Travel to Chamonix by Train

Chamonix has its own train station (Chamonix Mont-Blanc) with connections to the SNCF lines from St Gervais/Le Fayet and Vallorcine. There are also links to the TGV service at Annecy. Check out www.sncf.com for timetables and booking details.

Once in Resort

Once you are in resort you will find that you occasionally need to travel to get to all of the local ski areas. Some of our packages include in resort transfers at set times. Some of you may have hired a car from the airport, and so you will have your own transport to explore the area. Some of you may want to utilize the public bus service which goes up and down the valley throughout the day, and is free to use with your ski pass. Just ask our friendly sales team if you need advice.
